Vaclav Parus

He started as a cyclist, he was the champion on the 50 km inclined track in 1944. After the war, he started racing on a DKW 125 cm³ motorcycle in 1947. In 1949, he joined Jawa as a brakeman, and until 1952 he was also its factory rider. In 1953-1956, he rode a factory ČZ 125 cm³. In 1957-1966, he rode road motorcycle races for Dukla Prague. He rode as a private rider for the next two seasons. In 1980, he started racing in veteran races. Champion of the Republic in the 175 cm³ class in 1955, 1961 and 1962, winner of the 1955 Czechoslovakian Grand Prix in Brno, 6th place at the TT-Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man in 1956 on a ČZ 125 cm³, four-time winner of the Gustav Havel 300 Corners race in Hořice. He was the first Czech to score points in the World Championship of Road Motorcycles. He took part in the Czechoslovakian Championship in 1991. He scored his last championship points in 1991 at the age of 64 on the Most circuit. Riding the 1955 ESO 500 OHV, he crowned his racing career by winning 7 championship points and finishing 14th in the Czechoslovak Championship. He won 10 races in the Czechoslovak Championship.
